Perseverance

Perseverance

“Perseverance is failing 19 times and succeeding the 20th.”-Julie Andrews

The dictionaries all offer similar definitions to the word perseverance: To persist in or remain constant to a purpose, idea, or task in spite of adversity.

We all know someone that despite a multitude of hurdles has reached a significant goal, rebounding from setbacks, determined to reach their particular destination. The ability to keep on keeping on, even when our journey is mired in failures, digging deep to find the courage, strength, resilience and optimism is simply admirable.

In our go-go-go, multitasking world, we are losing the very element that can lead us down the path to happiness and success, the element of perseverance. Being dedicated and believing in yourself allows you the fortitude to know you won’t quit when an obstacle is lobbed your way.

Perseverance can heighten your intentions and provide you with the “guts” to get projects accomplished, master new talents and turn visions and dreams into actual realities. There is no room for giving up.

Most of us don’t recognize the true power of cultivating a state of perseverance and how it could be a guiding light to our future legacy. If we could embrace perseverance as a state-of-mind the sky would be our limit.
