“Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.” ―Henry Longfellow
Generosity means giving freely, volunteering one’s assistance, time, talents, efforts or money, for no other reason than the essence of giving itself. To be generous means giving without expectation of reward or return. Generosity at its core is about knowingly and willingly sacrificing our own interests or preferences to aid in the interests or needs of another.
The easiest path to finding success in your life is to help someone else find theirs. We should all aspire to contribute to this world something way bigger than just ourselves. Each one of us has an innate desire to fulfill our own dream(s). If more of us could adopt the mission of lifting one another up and offering a hand when it is needed so that more of us could see those dreams become reality it would be significant in bringing an awareness and mindfulness to our everyday consciousness about life’s bigger picture. That in turn would cause us to live and give more graciously and wouldn’t that be simply wonderful.
In the current state of our world we are desperately seeking generous givers. They improve society and inspire us to go above and beyond. Giving increases happiness, fulfillment, and purpose in our lives. We were not designed to be creatures of selfishness but rather to seek and unearth happiness by loving, caring and sharing for and with others.
